If you just started a relationship, or especially if you have been in one for awhile and feel like you need to spice it up, here are some ideas for romantic surprises for you.

If you are a guy,

-    Act like a gentleman. Bring her flowers, open the car door for her, hold the dinner chair etc. It is nice to be old-fashioned once in a while. Forget about the feminism and make your woman feel like a lady. Little romantic surprises such a box of candy or a flower without any occasion will make her feel special.

-    If you live together, bring home a bottle of champagne or good wine and serve it with dinner (which you can also prepare by yourself). If she asks what the occasion is, just tell her that you want to celebrate your love.

-    Do something that she usually does, such as take care of the laundry, make dinner or clean up the kitchen. If you think it is not romantic, you are wrong. Nothing turns on women more than a guy who helps her out around the house. If you decide to prepare a meal, don’t stress out about it being perfect. It is the idea that counts and not so much the result. If it sucks completely, you can always go to or order pizza, but she will never forget your good intentions and will be flattered.

-    If you ever forgot your anniversary or her birthday, buy her a gift or throw her a party to make up for it (it doesn’t matter that you are 4 months late. It is always better late than never).

If you are a woman,

-    One of the best romantic surprises for a guy who is into sports would be to buy tickets for the game he wants to see and come along, even if you hate it.

-    Make a special meal for him. Either make something that he loves or if you can’ cook surprise him by ordering the food he likes. Candles, music and a bottle of wine will add a nice touch to the dinner.

-    Dress up for him. It doesn’t mater if he says that he loves you no matter how you look. They say that women love with their ears and men love with their eyes. Dress up just for him, put make up on and ask him out on a date (or make a meal for him).

-    Write “I love you” on his dirty car (not “wash me”). Or even better – wash his car.

Romantic surprises don’t require much time and effort, but they are a great way to make your love last.
