Seasons of Love: Can Honeymoon Last Forever ? (Season 1)

No one argues that romantic stage of relationship is exciting and sometimes we wish that it would last forever. But endless romantic love is not only unrealistic, but unhealthy also. Imagine how burned out our bodies would be if our heart would beat 3 times faster and our palms would sweat every time we are with our loved one.

The Power Struggle stage is necessary because it lets you become realistic and look at the person you are with critically. Many couples don’t survive this stage, that’s why it is a good idea not go get married while you are still in the Romantic (read: immature) stage of love. Power Struggle is sort of invitation to take relationship to a deeper level and if a couple doesn’t get along after their passion faded, it will be almost impossible for them to survive this stage.

If mutual physical attraction is not the only reason the couple is together, they might survive this stage even though it might not be very pleasant.

During the Power Struggle stage of love partners start seeing that they mates have flaws and imperfections and their bad habits don’t look cute and “kind of charming” to them anymore. They often try to change each other (which almost never works) or find compromises.

Anger, frustration and disappointment are very common during this stage, but if the couple survives it, chances are good that their relationship will last long.
