Today’s post is not dedicated to those who are just looking for presents for their married friends. It is dedicated to those who are looking for ways to surprise their spouses on their anniversary.

Depending on circumstances, this idea can be very doable and very cheap, but if it turns out to be too difficult to accomplish, you’ll have to get creative. Here is what we have in mind.

A great way to surprise your spouse on your anniversary is to recreate your first date. If your first day was on your parents’ backyard or in a local café, you should not have problems recreating it. Invite your spouse on a date, but don’t tell her/him where you are going. If possible, try wearing similar clothing and similar perfume/cologne. If you got her flowers, get her the exact same ones as you did back then.

If you went out to eat, order the same food (if you remember of course), even if you thought it was terrible. Don’t talk about your jobs or gossip about your friends. The purpose of recreating your first date is to bring good memories back and have a great time.

If you went out to see a movie, you may rent the movie and watch it at home later.

If you met under some unusual or unwanted circumstances or met far away from where you are now, try recreating something else, such as the day when you (or he, if you are a woman) proposed, or the day when you first kissed.

As an addition to this you can make your spouse a CD with the songs which were popular at the time you were dating. Music can bring lots of good memories too.
