Unique Anniversary Gifts. Part 1
Buying gifts is not rocket science, but it can be quite frustrating at times. Flowers, candy and other corny gifts sort of work, but if you want your gift to be really meaningful, look for some unique anniversary gifts, which will make the recipients feel special and make them remember this gift for years.
One of my favorite unique anniversary gift ideas is creating a website dedicated to your wife, or to your married friends (if you are looking for a present for them).
Relax. You don’t have to be computer geek and you don’t have to pay anyone to create a website. Thanks to Google, you can create a blog for free. Yes, that’s right. You don’t have to pay for the hosting, or for the domain name. Go to Blogger.com and clock on a large orange button which says “CREATE A BLOG”. It takes literally a few minutes to set up a blog. All you need is to have a valid Gmail account. (If you don’t have it yet, make one; it also takes only a few minutes).
Since you are not going to be paying for your own domain name, your blog address will have blogspot.com attached to it.
So if you are creating a blog for your wife whose name is Anabelle, it may look something like www.foranabelle.blogspot.com. Or www.4myloveanabelle.blogspot.com
Or if you are making a site for your friends, the Browns you can do something like: the brownsanniversary.blogspot.com
You can put anything you want before blogspot.com, so be creative (My examples are kind of trite).
Blogger has a bunch of free templates to choose from and if you don’t like any of them, you can download new ones. But if you are not computer savvy, it is not necessary.
What to put on the blog?
Pictures, love poems, love quotes.
If you are making a blog for your spouse, write a love letter or something like that. If writing is not your cup of tea, go get a card and copy the text (just don’t lie that you originally wrote it).
Find some appropriate love poems and famous love quotes and include them in your blog as well.
If you are making an anniversary gift for a couple, tell your other friends about it and make some sort of guest book. Your friends can write what they love the most about the couple as well as write wishes for them on a blog.
I think that this is one of the best anniversary gift ideas, because you can be creative with it and make it really personal. Besides, it is free, which is always good.
